Why did someone call me asking to validate a transaction?

PayJunction's risk team and partner bank, First National Bank of Omaha (referred to as FNBO or TSYS), take proactive measures to protect our merchants. If Risk sees any card activity that is unusual a representative may reach out to validate the transaction and confirm that everything is running smoothly.  You may be contacted if any of the following is observed:

  • Transactions are keyed without address verification (AVS) or cardholder verification information (CVV)
  • International card transactions
  • Unusual spikes in processing

Historically, the examples above have been precursors to loss scenarios for merchants.

Risk may reach out to you to review the transaction and ensure that the you are taking all steps necessary to protect yourselves from chargebacks and fraud.
