How long do voids take to process?

When a transaction is voided and the batch settles, PayJunction sends an Authorization Reversal request to the card issuing bank. The Authorization Reversal process releases the funds that are being held (i.e. pending) for the transaction that was originally approved (aka Authorized), but then voided.

After the Authorization Reversal, the time necessary for your customer to have the funds available depends on the card type:

  • DEBIT CARDS: Funds are available within 24 hours.
  • CREDIT CARDS: Funds are available in 1 to 3 business days. It’s up to each’s bank discretion to determine when will they make the funds available.

Note that although your customer will not actually be charged, pending transactions will reduce the customer’s available limit on the card.
