How do I reset or enable my JavaScript and Cookie settings?

Each web browser is a little different and instructions for resetting your browser back to its default state may vary.  In general here are the following steps to enable and reset your browser's JavaScript and Cookie settings:

  1. Locate your browser settings. These are usually in the File menu under Edit, Tools, Preferences, or the application settings.
  2. Next, locate either the Security, Content, Privacy, or Advanced tabs.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript and Enable / Accept Cookies.

We have included detailed instructions for most browsers for convenience.

Special Notes for Merchants Using Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer works best with its default settings.  In the event that Internet Explorer does not perform correctly, we recommend that you reset it back to its factory settings:

  1. Click the Tools menu (or click Start, Control Panel, Internet Options).
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click on the Reset button to perform a factory restore.

JavaScript

Internet Explorer JavaScript

  1. Click the Tools menu (or click Start, Control Panel, Internet Options).
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click the Custom Level button.
  5. Click the Reset Custom Settings / Reset To menu and set it to Medium.
  6. Click Yes.

Firefox JavaScript (Windows)

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Content tab.
  4. Click the Enable JavaScript checkbox.
  5. Click OK.

Firefox JavaScript (Mac)

  1. Click the Firefox menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Content tab.
  4. Click the Enable JavaScript checkbox.
  5. Click OK.

Safari JavaScript

  1. Click the Safari menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click the Enable JavaScript checkbox.

Chrome JavaScript

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click the Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. Click the JavaScript tab and make sure Allow all sites to run JavaScript is selected.
  6. Chrome has JavaScript enabled. If it isn't working, upgrade Chrome.

Cookies

Internet Explorer Cookies

  1. Click the Tools menu (or click Start, Control Panel, Internet Options).
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Privacy tab.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. Select the option Override automatic cookie handling under the Cookies section in the Advanced Privacy Settings window.
  6. Select the Accept option for First Party Cookies and Third Party Cookies.
  7. Click OK each time.
  8. Click OK to exit.

Firefox Cookies (Windows)

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Privacy tab.
  4. Under History select Firefox will: Remember history.
  5. Click OK.

Firefox Cookies (Mac)

  1. Click the Firefox menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Privacy tab.
  4. Under History select Firefox will: Remember history.
  5. Click OK.

Safari Cookies

  1. Click the Safari menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Check the Accept Cookies: Always radio button.

Chrome Cookies

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click the Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. Under the Cookies tab, make sure Allow local data to be set is selected to allow both first-party and third-party cookies.
