What is a "CR" Chip Card Removed decline code?

A "CR" decline code means that your customer has removed a chip card before transaction was completed. 

EMV transactions are processed in 3 simple steps:

  1. Insert the card into the Smart Terminal's chip reader.
  2. Leave the card in the terminal and follow the on-screen prompts:
    • Sign for the transaction OR
    • Enter PIN code for the card
  3. When finished, the Smart Terminal will prompt the customer to remove the card.
