Portable Wi-Fi Troubleshooting - FAQ

Wi-Fi Requirements:

  • 2.4 GHz: Network must broadcast signal on 2.4 GHz band, as opposed to 5 GHz band.
  • WPA2-PSK: Network must have WPA2-PSK encryption enabled.
    • Not WPA-Enterprise: WPA Personal must be enabled.
  • AES encrypted password: AES encryption must be enabled.
  • Not a hidden Wi-Fi network.

Can I use the Portable Terminal without Wi-Fi?:

  • No, the PayJunction Portable Terminal only works if you have a valid Wi-Fi connection. 

Can I use the Portable Terminal Static IP?:

  • Yes, you can. Please note, the devices are shipped with DHCP as default. If you want to set Static IPs, please call PayJunction support.

How do I change my Wi-Fi connection:

NOTE: To obtain terminal passwords (step 2 below), contact PayJunction Customer Support at 800-601-0230 x 3, Monday-Friday, 6am to 5pm PT.
  1. Hold the hamburger menu for 5 seconds, when it beeps, double tap the hamburger menu.
  2. Enter the password.
  3. Go to “Setup”.
  4. Go to “System Config”.
  5. Go to “Network”.
  6. Enable HTTPS ON > Next.
  7. Select network > WLAN.
  8. Select Disconnect.
  9. Available Wi-Fi networks will be displayed.
  10. Select the new Wi-Fi network.
  11. Enter Wi-Fi password, press Next.
  12. Backlist cleanup > Next.
  13. Network Configuration:
    1. HeartBeat: Leave at current setting.
    2. Select your type of network: DHCP or Static.
  14. Connecting please wait.
  15. Connected.
    If theres a “failed to connect (unknown error)“, try to re-enter the network password.
