ezyVet - How to Add Surcharge Information to the Receipt Templates

To comply with state legislation and Card Brand rules, businesses that apply a credit card surcharge must clearly disclose surcharge details on customer receipts. This article walks you through how to update your ezyVet receipt templates to meet those requirements and avoid potential fines.

Receipts must include:

  • The surcharge amount

  • The total amount (base + surcharge)

  • A surcharge disclosure message

Update the Receipt Template in ezyVet

Important: This step is required to remain compliant with surcharge rules.

Testing the Updates

After you’ve enabled surcharge in both PayJunction and ezyVet, look up a transaction that has a surcharge and a transaction that does not and confirm the following:

  • The receipt only displays the surcharge amount and disclosure if there is a surcharge.

  • The surcharge amount and total amount are correct.

  • The format and styling of the receipt is still the same.
