1) What is an Adjustment?
Sometimes you may notice unexpected credits or debits labeled “Adjustment” in your Bank Deposits.
Adjustments come from the banking side of processing, not PayJunction directly. The most common causes are ACH rejects and PIN debit chargebacks.
If you’re ever unsure about an entry, contact PayJunction Risk at 800-601-0230 x5.
2) Common Reasons for Adjustments
1. Merchant ACH Rejects
If a customer’s ACH payment is rejected by their bank after deposit, you’ll see a debit listed as Adjustment.
When this happens, PayJunction will reverse the previously initiated deposit to ensure your account reflects the accurate balance.

2. PIN Debit Chargebacks
If a payment was processed as a PIN debit transaction, the customer’s bank can reverse the funds if they dispute the charge under Regulation E.
This will appear as an Adjustment in your Bank Deposits page.

3) How to Tell the Difference
-
ACH icon next to the amount: This is an ACH reject.
No ACH icon and you receive a mailed notice from TSYS: This is a PIN debit chargeback.
