How to Save PayJunction Transaction and Recurring Schedule Details for a Chargeback Response

The complete Transaction Details page may contain information that is helpful when responding to a chargeback, including available Address Verification Service (AVS) and Card Verification Value (CVV) response details.

These details may be particularly relevant when the cardholder states that they did not authorize or recognize a transaction.

Important

Save the complete Transaction Details page from your browser. Do not select Print Receipt. The receipt does not contain all the information displayed on the complete Transaction Details page.

Browser print window with Save as PDF selected

Do Not Select Print Receipt

The Print Receipt option creates a customer receipt. It does not save all the additional information displayed on the complete Transaction Details page.

For a chargeback response, use your browser’s print function to save the complete page.

3. Review the Transaction Information

Before including the PDF with your response, confirm that it is readable and shows the relevant transaction information.

Depending on how the transaction was processed, the page may include:

  • Transaction date and amount
  • Transaction status
  • Approval or authorization code
  • Transaction method
  • Available AVS response details
  • Available CVV response details
  • Customer or billing information entered with the transaction

AVS and CVV details are only available when the information was entered and submitted with the transaction.

4. Include Relevant Transaction History

Prior transaction activity with the cardholder may provide additional context for some disputes.

When relevant:

  1. Select View History from the Transaction Details page.

View History option in the transaction menu
  2. Review the prior transaction history.
  3. Take a screenshot showing the relevant transaction activity.

Example of relevant prior transaction history
  4. Confirm that the screenshot is readable and only includes information related to the correct cardholder and dispute.

In the written response, briefly explain why the history is relevant. For example:

The attached transaction history shows prior transactions completed using the same customer and payment information.

Prior transaction history does not replace the need to respond directly to the specific dispute details.

5. Save Recurring Schedule Details

If the disputed transaction was processed through a PayJunction recurring schedule, the recurring schedule may provide additional information that is helpful for your chargeback response.

Recurring schedule information may be particularly relevant when the cardholder states that recurring billing was canceled before the disputed transaction.

Find the Recurring Schedule

  1. Select Recurring from the left menu.

Recurring option in the left menu
  2. Locate the recurring schedule associated with the disputed transaction.
  3. Open the recurring schedule.
  4. Confirm that the schedule belongs to the correct customer and disputed transaction.

The Recurring Schedule page will show:

  • Current schedule status
  • Recurring amount and frequency
  • Start date
  • Stop date, when applicable
  • Next scheduled transaction
  • Customer information
  • Masked payment information
  • Date created
  • Last modified date
  • Invoice information

Review the Transaction History

Select Transaction History to review transactions processed through the recurring schedule.

The history may help show:

  • Transaction status
  • Payment method
  • Amount
  • Processed date
  • Prior recurring transactions associated with the schedule

When relevant, use the history to help establish when the disputed transaction occurred in relation to other recurring payments.

Review the Activity

Select Activity to review available changes made to the recurring schedule.

Depending on the schedule activity, this may show:

  • What schedule information was changed
  • Previous and updated schedule details
  • Date and time of the change
  • User who made the change

This information may be helpful when the timing of a schedule change is relevant to the dispute.

If the Dispute Involves Cancellation

PayJunction recurring schedule information may help establish how the schedule was configured, when transactions were processed, and available changes made to the schedule.

It does not replace records showing when the customer requested cancellation. Include relevant cancellation requests, customer communications, and applicable recurring-payment or cancellation terms when available.

Save the Recurring Schedule Information

Use your browser's print or save function to save the relevant recurring schedule information as a PDF.

When saving the information, confirm that the pages are readable and include the details relevant to your response.

Save the file using a clear name, such as:

Chargeback Case 123456 – Recurring Schedule Details.pdf

6. Add the Transaction Details to Your Response

Place the saved Transaction Details, relevant transaction history, and/or Recurring Schedule details after your written chargeback response summary.

In the summary, identify the documents and explain what they demonstrate.

For example:

The attached PayJunction Transaction Details page shows the transaction information and the available AVS and CVV responses.

For a recurring transaction:

The attached PayJunction Recurring Schedule information shows the recurring payment schedule and transaction history associated with the disputed transaction.

If schedule changes are relevant:

The attached PayJunction Recurring Schedule Activity shows changes made to the recurring schedule and when those changes occurred.

Combine the summary and supporting documents into one organized PDF file when possible before submitting the response through merlinkresponse.com.

Important — A Favorable Outcome Is Not Guaranteed

Transaction details and prior history may help support your response, but no document guarantees a favorable outcome.

The issuing bank and, when applicable, the card brand make the final decision—not PayJunction or TSYS.
